Ludhiana: With video of an attack on a shop in Haibowal area going viral, police have booked the “assailants” for allegedly attacking the shopkeeper. Police said the incident occurred two days back.
In his complaint, Shagandeep of Chuhadpur Road claimed that he was closing his shop around 10pm when Gurdev Singh, Amarinder Singh, Mahitab Singh (all of Haibowal Kalan) and some unknown persons attacked him.
He went back to his shop to save his life and closed the shutter. The attackers stood outside and threatened him. He alleged that when he asked the attackers about the reason for the attack, they only threw bricks and stones at the shop.
After the incident, he informed the police.
Inspector Amritpal Singh, SHO, Haibowal police station, said they have registered a case against the accused under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the IPC. He said the accused are yet to be arrested.
Police said the exact cause of the assault will be known once the accused are arrested.
