16-year-old missing SSLC student found dead with head crushed

BELAGAVI: A 16-year-old SSLC student, who was reported missing a day before, was found dead in the wee hours of Thursday. The boy, Prajwal Shivanand Karigar, had been attacked with sharp weapons and his head crushed with some heavy object.
The body was found on the outskirts of Mucchandi village, 9 km from the city. Prajwal, a resident of Shivaji Nagar here, was in GA High School. The body was identified by his school uniform.
Sources said Prajwal did not return home on Wednesday till late at night. After searching everywhere, the family informed the police.
DCP (law and order) Ravindra Gadadi visited the spot where the body was found and got the details. He said that a kidnap case has been registered in the Camp police station. “We are investigating the case and have got crucial clues based on CCTV footage,” he said.
