Ahmedabad: Man held for stalking, posing as IPS officer

AHMEDABAD: City cybercrime police on Wednesday caught a 36-year-old man from Dariapur, for allegedly cyberstalking a 23-year-old woman from Danilimda since November 2021, while posing as a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer and DCP (traffic) of Ahmedabad city, Safin Hasan.
According to cybercrime police, the complainant, a manager with an insurance company on CG Road, filed a complaint of cyberstalking on Wednesday. She said in her FIR that the accused, identified as Uwais Arab, had contacted her through Instagram. He was pestering her for marriage while posing as Hasan. tnn
