PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate 'Deepotsava' in Ayodhya on eve of Diwali

LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 'Deepotsava' in Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali on Sunday.
He will offer prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi around 5pm on Sunday and inspect the construction of the upcoming Ram Temple. Later, he will attend the aarti on Saryu Ghat.
He will also attend the ‘rajya-abhishek’ (coronation) ceremony of Lord Ram, which is held in the holy city to celebrate his return to his hometown after victory over Ravana.
This will be followed by lighting of diyas. In a record-breaking feat, the UP government has decided to light 15 lakh diyas together along the banks of the Saryu.
It is for the first time that PM Modi will participate in the festivities in the sixth edition of Deepotsava.
The Yogi Adityanath government is going to welcome the guests with five animated tableaux and 11 tableaux displaying various dances of the country during the celebrations.
A three-dimensional holographic projection mapping show at Ram Ki Paidi, bathing ghats in the temple town, along with musical laser show will also enthral the gathering. The state will also showcase its strong culture and diversity with the help of various dance and artforms.
Artists from Gorakhpur will showcase Faruwahi, a tribal folk dance, ones from Mathura will present the Braj culture, a group from Azamgarh will take the centrestage to present Dhobiya, a Bhojpuri dance form, while people from Bundelkhand will perform Rai dance.
The ages-old folk genre of the Ahir community, Birha renditions, will be performed by Parasnath Yadav, a popular artist from Ghazipur. Bhadohi-based Sheshmani Saroj will also present Birha renditions before the gathering.
