RAJKOT: Eight people were sentenced to life imprisonment on Thursday for killing a 30-year-old man over a petty issue in Ranghola village of Bhavnagar’s Umrala taluka.
The sessions court in Bhavnagar convicted Anil Satiya, Ashwin Satiya, Raju Bhoklva, Vishal Boliya, Ravi Satiya, Gopal Bhoklva, Hama Bhoklva and Bogha Satiya by principal district and sessions judge LS Pirzada.
They had killed Vipul Kuvadiya on November 14 last year when the victim and his cousin were at a marriage function in Ranghola. Kuvadiya had an altercation with Anil Satiya over a petty issue after which the latter called others and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, said public prosecutor Dhruv Mehta.
