Bhubaneswar: Police to launch awareness sessions on internet usage for students

BHUBANESWAR: In order to tackle the challenges posed by cyber criminals for children, the commissionerate police has decided to launch a series of awareness sessions educating students on the responsible use of social media.

“Cybercrime is a borderless and contactless offence where the scammers work clandestinely. We will sensitise school and college students about the responsible use of social media and other digital platforms,” commissioner of police Saumendra Priyadarshi said.
“We often receive complaints regarding cyber stalking and harassment of girl students on social media. We also come across cases of cheating where students have lost money by clicking on suspicious links,” additional commissioner of police Uma Shankar Dash said.
