BENGALURU: In a reminder of the September deluge that flooded Bengaluru's marquee tech corridor but not on that scale though, overnight rain on Wednesday affected 150 houses and inundated several roads affecting traffic at key junctions across Bengaluru.
A portion of BMRCL's boundary wall in front of the JD(S) head office in Seshadripuram collapsed, damaging seven cars and a two-wheeler.
According to BBMP, 60 areas across eight city zones were affected. Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli zones were impacted the most. The BBMP control room received 150 calls and the fire and emergency services about 15 calls relating to waterlogging.
The city received 60.5mm of rainfall on Wednesday night, and IMD has forecast thunderstorms for the next two days. According to data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre, Hampinagar ward received the highest rainfall of 85.5mm.
Madiwala lake overflowed but the damaged caused by it was minimal. Rainbow Drive Layout in Sarjapur & Sai Layout in KR Puram were flooded again, but residents were not affected as badly as in September. A stretch on Yemalur was also inundated.
