Five held in J&K on terror-aid charges
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested five overground workers for allegedly providing logistics support to terrorists and booked them under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
Police sources said Nazir Ahmad Pala, Mohammad Usma Banli, Firdos Ahmad Khan, Abdul Hamid Khan and Anyatullah Wani were held late Wednesday night. All are from Banihal in Jammu’s Ramban area.
The arrests came two days after two apple-pickers from Uttar Pradesh were killed when terrorists hurled a grenade on their shack in Shopian’s Herman area. The Resistance Front had claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier, Ramban police had found three improvised explosive devices stuffed in a bag on October 13.
