Man smothered wife to death, says report

Thiruvananthapuram: A day after a couple was found dead at their house in Kamaleswaram, the postmortem report has revealed that the man had smothered his wife to death and later ended his life by hanging himself in the bathroom. Kamal Rafi (52), a resident of Crescent Apartments, and his wife Thasni (47) were found dead inside their house on Wednesday evening.
From the suicide notes recovered, the police confirmed that Rafi was doubtful about his wife and they used to quarrel each other.
“The accused might have killed her on sudden provocation. He then tied the rope on her neck to create an impression that it was a suicide. Later, he ended his life,” said the police.
Police registered a case against Rafi under 302 of IPC for murder and also 174 for unnatural death.TNN
