2,359 doctors promoted in Raj
Jaipur: Just few days ahead of Diwali, the health department has brought smiles on the face of doctors as 2,359 have been promoted in the state.
Besides, health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Thursday issued directions for speeding work of recruiting 1,700 doctors and 8,200 medical staff.
Meena has directed that about 1,700 doctors and 8,200 medical staff should be recruited soon. Meena was addressing the review meeting of the medical and health department held at the Secretariat on Thursday.
He said that the recruitment process should be completed as soon as possible after obtaining approval from the finance department for the recruitment of about 600 posts of medical officers which have been vacated due to promotions.
He said that applications have been issued by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences for the recruitment of 840 posts of medical officers approved earlier.
He directed that the recruitment process should be completed at the earliest of other 330 medical officers after receiving approval from the finance department.
He also issued directions for early recruitment on 3,200 posts of nursing officer, 1,200 for female health worker, 2,000 for pharmacists, 1,000 posts for lab technician.
While reviewing progress in works of Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation Limited (RMSCL), Meena issued directed that under chief minister Nirogi Rajasthan scheme, medicines have been made available free of cost in all government medical institutions. He said that the availability of medicines should be ensured at every level so that complaints of unavailability of medicines should not be received from anywhere.
While reviewing the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, Meena expressed happiness that in the recently organised Chiranjeevi Gram Sabhas, about 1 lakh 85 thousand new families have been registered under the scheme. It is worth mentioning that so far about 1 crore 35 lakh families have been registered under Chiranjeevi Yojana and about 90 percent families of the state are now linked with this scheme. So far, about 25 lakh people have benefited from the scheme as they have been given free treatment of about Rs 2,900 crore.
Meena directed NHM director Sudhir Sharma to fill up 9,500 vacant contractual posts of healthcare workers at the earliest. Expressing displeasure over the slow progress of opening Janta Clinic, he said all these clinics should start functioning within the next one month.
