Vadodara: The prevention of crime branch (PCB) has busted a gang of thieves and arrested four persons from the city. The police said that members of the gang are the natives of Karnataka and
Tamil Nadu and they frequented Gujarat to commit crime.
According to police, the gang members used to travel to Vadodara frequently and stayed in hotels. They used to do recce in the residential colonies and enter the houses either in the evenings or early mornings. “They used to steal mobile phones, laptops or cash lying in the room and disappear within minutes,” said a police official.
The gang used to sell off the gadgets in their home states and distribute the money among themselves. The cops have seized nine laptops from the gang. The four accused were identified as Dhanraj Boyar, Santosh Boyar and Uday Boyar, all residents of Tamil Nadu; and Ramesh Vadar, a resident of Karnataka.
The police recovered 21 stolen mobile phones from the accused, along with four other phones that they kept for personal use.
