Man held for killing 5-yr-old boy whose body was recovered from public toilet
Kanpur: Police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of a five-year-old Virat Sonkar, whose body was recovered wrapped in a blanket and dumped inside a public toilet in Badshahi Naka police station area of the city on October 14 night.
According to police, one Dharamveer Yadav, a native of Pratapgarh has confessed to the killing.
Virat, son of Suresh Sonkar, had been missing from his Badshahi Naka house since October 11. His body was later recovered from a community toilet in the area on October 14.
"Dharamveer was a caretaker of the community toilet situated near the boy’s house. He told the police that he had killed Virat because he had been troubling him for the last few days and when he complained to his father, instead of reprimanding Virat, he abused me. On October 11, when Virat again started troubling him, he got angry and after grabbing the boy by his neck smashed him on the floor following which he suffered serious injuries and died later," said DCP East Ravindra Kumar.
DCP further said that After registering a case against Dharamveer, he has been sent to jai, the DCP further said.
