Mysuru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has decided to bring out a book on ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in order to document the event.
KPCC spokesperson HA Venkatesh on Wednesday said a book with details of the campaign will be brought out to record the event led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The work will be published in English and Kannada, he told reporters on Wednesday.
Discussions will be held with KPCC president DK Shivakumar, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah, KPCC working president R Dhruvanarayana and party leader G Parameshwara before finalising the contents of the book, he said.
Common people’s opinion, speeches, issues discussed with intellectuals, participation of Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi, and other activities taken up during the rally will be recorded in detail, he said.
Meanwhile, he said Congress is ready to face a CBI probe into charges of corruption levelled against the Siddaramaiah government by the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. “It is contractors’ association leader Kempanna who alleged 40% commission against the state government and not Congress. Despite the severe allegation, PM Narendra Modi has failed to act,” he said.
“Bengaluru was in third place in terms of cleanliness and now it has slipped to 43rd. Seven people have lost their lives in road accidents in the last two months due to bad road conditions. There are 7,000 files of the state government pending before the Union government and the PM, who will be visiting Bengaluru in November, must answer it,” he said.
