Upcoming Tata and Maruti cars to debut at Delhi Auto Expo
Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki are all set to showcase and launch their new cars and SUVs at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2023.
Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors being the largest carmakers in India, both of these companies are expected to dazzle at the 2023 Auto Expo with a range of upcoming cars and SUVs.
Here is a list of some of the products that we believe Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki will showcase at the Delhi Auto Expo.
1. 2023 Tata Harrier
The next on the list is the Tata Harrier facelift. The Tata Harrier SUV made its debut back in 2019 and when it was launched the car received a lot of attention from Indian consumers because of its design and how premium it looked. Since its launch, the car also has received numerous colour options and editions and it’s due to get a big facelift.

For the first time, the 2023 Tata Harrier has been spied on for a test in India. Since the SUV was extensively covered, it's hard to tell anything about its new design. But its upright silhouette looks similar to the existing model.
2023 Tata Harrier: Exterior
As previously mentioned, the upright silhouette looks similar to the existing model. We expect no any changes in terms of dimensions but since this will be the first major facelift for the Harrier, what we can confirm is that the model will be getting redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new re-designed headlamp setup, revised tail-lights and re-designed alloy wheels.
The spotted car also houses radar in front indicating all important ADAS features. ADAS suite night includes features such as. adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, blind spot monitoring and other advanced driver aid systems.
2023 Tata Harrier: Interior
Moving on to the interior, the layout design is expected to remain the same as the previous generation but the car is expected to get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech. Other expected features include a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster and many more.
Tata might also tweak the materials inside the cabin to make the cabin feel modern and upmarket.
2023 Tata Harrier: Engine and Transmission
Talking about the Engine and Transmission, we expect the 2023 Harrier to continue with the same engine and transmission options, which include a fiat-sourced 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque converter automatic. It is also expected that Tata might offer Harrier the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.
2023 Tata Harrier: Pricing and Rivals
The outgoing model has priced from Rs 14.7 lakh to Rs 22.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), we expect the new Harrier to be costlier by at least Rs 1 lakh. When launched, the Harrier will continue to compete with the likes of MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, newly launched Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
2. Maruti Jimny 5 door
Maruti has been spotted testing the five-door Jimny quite a few times already and recently it was spotted testing in Leh. When launched, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will compete with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
The Jimny 5-door will retain most of the styling elements from the three-door version. The five-door version gets a five twin-spoke alloy wheel design, a large bumper with a honeycomb mesh pattern, fog lamps on both ends, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Talking about the interior, the cabin layout of the SUV is expected to remain the same but Jimny might get a bigger touchscreen system with connected car tech. The feature list will include Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, Wireless charging, steering mounted controls and many more.
Mechanically, the Maruti Jimny is expected to retain the same 1.5-litre, 4-cyl, NA petrol engine which also powers up the newly launched Grand Vitara and Brezza. This engine produces 100 bhp and 130 Nm of torque.
Globally, Jimny is offered a 4X4 system which comes with a low-range transfer case as well. In India, we can expect the same 4x4 system to be offered with the 5-door version.
We expect Maruti to price the five-door Jimny starting from Rs 8 lakh and when launched, the Jimny will take on Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha
3. Tata Altroz EV
Another most expected car on the list is the Altroz EV.

Tata showcased the all-electric variant of the Altroz premium hatchback at the Geneva Motor show in 2019. The Tata Altroz EV is based on the same ALFA platform which is compatible with electrification. The electric premium hatchback is expected to be launched at the Auto expo 2023.
The Tata Altroz EV is expected to borrow many features from the already launched Nexon EV such as the same electric powertrain, PDU (Power distribution unit) and battery pack.
The car is expected to come with connected car technology which lets you access the car's stats such as the remaining battery, and charging history and even locate the nearest charging stations for you.
The Tata Altroz EV is expected to be priced around Rs 12- 15 lakhs in India.
4. Maruti Baleno Cross
The Maruti Baleno Cross has also spied testing on Indian roads multiple times.
The vehicle features a distinctive sloping roofline with a slightly more upright front fascia and higher ground clearance.
From the spied images, the front grille looks much larger and wider and it also shows highlights like split headlamps with lower-set main headlights and streaks of daytime running LEDs above them.
The test mule also wears black
coloured alloy wheels which are likely 16-inches. The squared-off wheel arches and dark body cladding can also be seen. At the rear, key highlights include a raked windshield, chunky bumper and boot-lid integrated spoiler.
The cross Baleno also wears roof rails which gives it an SUV stance and it is also expected to come with front and rear skid plates and body cladding all around.
Talking about the powertrain, the Baleno cross is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K12C Dualjet petrol engine from the Baleno. This engine produces 90 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque and comes mated with a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
It is also expected that Maruti might bring back the turbocharged 1.0-litre, 3-cyl, petrol engine which was available in the Baleno RS.
The Baleno cross is said to make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and when launched, it will compete with Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3.
5. Production spec Tata Curvv
The Tata Curvv concept was revealed in the country in April this year, based on an entirely new EV platform.
The coupe-styled concept is also based on Tata's new design philosophy called 'Less is More' - which could be the host for all future Tata EVs to come. We expect Tata to showcase the Curvv concept at the 2023 Auto Expo in a slightly more production-ready form.
Tata had also revealed that the Curvv concept will result in a fully-electric vehicle first, followed by an ICE version later. The EV could have a range of around 400 - 500 km, however, the same is yet to be confirmed. What's more, the Tata Curvv is actually capable of charging other electric vehicles!
6. 2023 Maruti Swift
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the Indian market for almost 15 years. The updated Swift was launched in the Indian market in 2018 and now is due to get a major facelift.

The 2023 Swift was recently spied testing in Europe. The hatchback’s all-new model is likely to make a global debut by the end of 2022 and its India launch might take place in early 2023.
The 2023 Swift will feature sleeker headlamps with new LED elements, a completely new front grille, updated bumper with wider and lower air intakes. The fog lamp assembly will have new C-shaped air splitters. Some of its other design highlights will include larger, dual-tone alloy wheels, new body panels, blacked-out pillars and a spoiler.
Rumour suggests that the new 2023 Maruti Swift could get mild-hybrid tech with the 1.2L K12N Dualjet petrol engine in the European markets but in India getting a hybrid tech is highly doubtful.
