Mysuru: FIR against priest following complaint of animal sacrifice

MYSURU: Krishnaraja police have registered a first information report (FIR) against a temple priest in connection with animal sacrifice conducted near a temple located at the foot of the Chamundi hills.
Priyadarshni S, advisory board member, of People for Animals had lodged a complaint with the police. In her complaint, she alleged that a local temple priest was blessings the animals including fowls, sheeps, goats, before sacrificing them. Based on her complaint now FIR has been registered, the police said.
We also lodged a complaint with the forest department, and fire and emergency services department in this regard as these sacrificed animals were burnt in the sensitive area, she said.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Pradeep Gunti informed that a FIR was registered following a complaint by the outfit.
