NOIDA: To attract foreign investors to the proposed Medical Device Park (MDP), officials of the Yamuna Expressway Authority and the state government will hold an interactive meeting with top executives of prominent global and Indian MNCs in Delhi on November 2.
Representatives of as many as 28 companies, including Abbott, Siemens and GE, have been invited to the meeting.
Officials of the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) will also be present during the interaction. YEIDA will also participate in a roadshow in the US next month, officials said.
Such roadshows will also take place in Germany, Japan and Israel, besides Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Mumbai in the coming months, according to officials. "An interaction with entrepreneurs is also being planned in Mumbai in November. Preparations for this event have already started," an official said.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said, "Efforts are being made to bring big companies into the Medical Device Park project. The companies will be told about the project in detail. They will be made aware of the government's exemptions and benefits being offered to companies. The FSDA officials will clarify concerns related to the licensing and registration process."
Apart from YEIDA officials, the chief minister's medical advisor will also be present during the interaction meeting.
Under a central government scheme, MDPs are being set up in four states, including Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. In UP, it is being set up on 350 acres in YEIDA's Sector 28. In the first phase, the park is being developed on 150 acres.
For this, 37 companies have already been allotted plots. Allottees are expected to get physical possession of land by December-end. The park is expected to give direct and indirect job opportunities to about 70,000 people and raise an investment of over Rs 5,000 crore.
