Nagaraj Shetti, Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities, believes Monday's pattern could be considered as a High Wave, which reflects high volatility in the market at swing highs.

NEW DELHI: Shares of , Electronics Mart India Ltd., , and Venus Pipes & ., hit their fresh 52-week highs during Wednesday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 25.3 points up at 17512.25 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as , Penta Gold, , and , touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 17 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 33 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, , , ITC, RIL and were among top gainers during the day, while , , SBI, and ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 146.59 points up at 59107.19.

Traders piled up positions in Logistics, Telecommunications, Tobacco, Engineering and Paper sectors, while selling was witnessed in Learning & Education, NBFC, Glass, Miscellaneous and IT Enabled Services sectors during the day.
