GHAZIABAD: A 38-year-old woman was kidnapped from Ashram road in Ghaziabad and gang-raped by five persons for at least two days.
The incident took place when the woman was returning to her house in Delhi after attending a party at her brother's home in Ghaziabad.
According to police, the accused were identified as Deenu, Shahrukh, Javed, Dhola and Aurangzeb alias Zaheer.
Muniraj G, SSP of Ghaziabad said that around 3.30am on October 18, police got the information from a passerby and immediately a police team rushed to the spot.
"On the basis of complaint made by victim's brother, an FIR has been registered in Nandgram police station against five men under the section of 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement) and 376 D (gang rape) of IPC. We have detained four persons in the case and further investigation is underway," Muniraj G said.
"Initial investigation revealed that the victim had a property dispute with the accused and a matter is also in the civil court in Delhi. While police are investigating, teams are working on the case," he said.
Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal, chief of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) said that this case is similar to Nirbhaya case as accused had inserted an iron rod in her private part after raping her.
"The victim was waiting for an auto-rickshaw when she was going to her house after attending her brother's birthday party. But four persons came in a Scorpio car and took her to an isolated place where another man was also present. They raped her for two days and dumped her body after tying her hands and legs. The accused put her body in a sack before dumping her from that place where they kidnapped her," she said.
"The woman was found by some people in a pool of blood and an iron rod was inserted in her body. A notice to Ghaziabad 's SSP has been sent and asked them to take action against the accused. They have been asked to submit a report on the matter as well," she said.
