Prisons DGP’s foreign trip cancelled

Thiruvananthapuram: An overseas trip by DGP and director general (prisons and correctional service) Sudesh Kumar to the United States and Canada, while on the verge of his retirement, has been cancelled by the government on the basis of the instructions of the Centre to postpone the trip.
Sudesh Kumar, a 1987-batch IPS officer, is set to retire from the service on October 31 this year. He had applied for travelling to the US and Canada from September 3 to 14, organised by the board of management, members of the academy of prisons and correctional administration (APCA).
