Bhubaneswar: A day after attending the Odisha investors’ meet in Hyderabad, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday arrived in Mumbai, where he will lay the foundation stone for expansion of Odisha Bhawan. After the programme, he will return to Bhubaneswar.
The existing facility at Vashi in Navi Mumbai will be expanded to cater to the needs of people from Odisha, who visit Mumbai in large numbers for different works, particularly cancer treatment.
The home department’s plan for expansion of the Odisha Bhawan includes state-of-the-art accommodation facility and funds for the project have been approved by the state government.
This would be Naveen’s second visit to Mumbai this year after September 14 when he attended the Odisha Investors’ Meet and held one-to-one discussion with business leaders like Kumar Mangalam Birla, Anil Agarwal, Anand Mahindra and top bankers.
Naveen also visited the Bombay Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell that marks the beginning of trade.
