Jamshedpur: A septuagenarian on Tuesday suffered bullet injury when the shots fired by miscreants at another person hit him at Sakchi market under Sakchi police station limits. The injured was identified as Mohammad Mumtaz, a resident of Kapali in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Police recovered two empty cartridges, two live bullets, and a countrymade gun from the site.
A police man said, “Two unidentified miscreants opened fire at Rajesh Singh, also a murder accused, while he was boarding a car. The bullets missed the target and hit Mohammad Mumtaz, who was buying banana at a hawker’s shop close to the parking zone. He received injury on the left leg and is admitted at MGM hospital. Rajesh suffered minor splinter injury on the right leg and is admitted at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).”
ASP (City) Sudhanshu Jain said, “Footages of CCTV cameras are being examined to identify the assailants. Rajesh Singh will be interrogated.”
