Panaji: Power minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar said that all the streetlight restructuring has been done and that they will now be controlled and managed by the power department. Stating that it will take six months for them to put the system in order, he said streetlights were functioning under different departments and agencies, including Goa Industrial Development Corporation, tourism department, PWD, panchayats, etc.
“We have cancelled all that and the power department is now restructuring street lighting. The duty imposed is not a big difference for the people,” he said. “If the problem still persists then, then the power department will be responsible,” he said.
“One division in each constituency with a junior engineer and staff will be in charge of the streetlights,” he said.
