Sumalatha inspects rain-hit areas in Mandya
Mandya: MP Sumalatha Ambareesh on Tuesday visited several rain-affected areas in Mandya taluk. Accompanied with officers, Sumalatha visited parts of Budhanooru, Chikka Mandya and Sathanooru. She visited the house of deceased farmer Puttaswamy of Shivara village and consoled his family members. She also promised to draw the attention of the chief minister to the incident and get a new house and Rs 5 lakh compensation.
She lashed out at NHAI officials during the inspection of Budanur village. She told reporters that due to unscientific work, the under-construction Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway has become non-motorable when it rains.
“This work is causing trouble to schoolchildren and the public. Entry, exit, service roads have not been designed scientifically,” the independent MP said. TNN
