Agreement signed for subsidised pharmacy store at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences from January

Agreement signed for subsidised pharmacy store at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences from January
RANCHI: Like AIIMS in Delhi and PGI Chandigarh, Amrit Pharmacy store will be set up at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) in Ranchi to offer subsidised medicines and other medical necessities to patients.
The state-run health facility gets thousands of patients daily, most of whom are from economically-poor background. The store will become functional from January 23, 2023, officials said on Tuesday.
Dr Rajeev Ranjan, the PRO of Rims, on Tuesday said they have signed an MoU with HLL Life Care for setting up the pharmacy store following clearance from the Rims governing council and the health department a few days ago.
The store will operate for 9 hours (9:30am to 6:30pm) from January 23. Patients with in and out slips approved by Rims will be able to buy medicines from the store. The store will also provide facility for implant, stent, knee and hip replacements at the rate fixed by the Centre.
Ranjan said, “With the number of poor and needy patients increasing, Rims approached HLL Life Care Ltd to open Amrit Pharmacy. After analysing the factors of public growth and personal expansion, HLL Life Care Ltd agreed.”
