Free coaching for economically weaker SC students launched
Prayagraj: Dr Ambedkar Centre for Academic Excellence (DACE), which would provide free coaching for UPSC exams to economically weaker scheduled caste category students, was inaugurated by Allahabad University (AU) vice chancellor prof Sangita Srivastava on Monday.
DACE’s are being opened in 31 universities of the country by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The VC, in her online address, said: “Best teachers will teach the selected students and they should therefore make optimum use of the opportunity. A healthy society can only be made when each member from every section of the society is not only equal in the legal system but also in the social system.”
She added the endeavor is to empower the students from economically weaker scheduled caste sections.
The MOU was signed in April at BHU (Varanasi) when the programme was launched by governor Anandiben Patel and takes on the dream of Dr Ambedkar to uplift the scheduled Castes and give them the opportunity to contribute their share in nation building.
