Vadodara: 3-year-old boy dies while playing in hotel in Alkapuri

VADODARA: A three-year-old boy died after falling into a narrow passage made for the water fountain in a hotel in Alkapuri.
The incident occurred on October 15 when Reyansh Roy was playing in the hotel. He unknowingly walked towards the three-feet deep passage that was full of water and slipped into it.
His parents, who were in the hotel to attend a party, began looking for him after he went missing.
The hotel staff also scanned the CCTV footage in which Reyansh, son of a bank official, was seen walking from the lawn towards the passage that is reportedly made to dispose of the fountain water. They immediately rushed to the passage and found Reyansh’s body in the water.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but couldn’t be saved.
“We are investigating the case and studying the hotel’s interior design. If there is negligence on the part of the hotel in safety standards, we will file a complaint against the management,” said Julie Kothia, DCP (Zone 1).
The cops are also investigating if the child died due to injuries or drowning.
