Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:25AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 6.29%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 3.60%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.22%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.57%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.55%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.34%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 1.09%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.73%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 0.54%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.47%) were among the top gainers.

KCP Sugar & Industries(down 2.60%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.92%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.73%), Rana Sugars(down 0.42%), EID Parry(down 0.32%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 0.30%), Mawana Sugars(down 0.24%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.19%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.19%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 164.4 points up at 17476.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 529.98 points at 58940.96 at around 11:25AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.93%), State Bank of India(up 2.83%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.35%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.2%), Adani Enterprises(up 2.11%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.04%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.96%), Eicher Motors(up 1.85%), ITC(up 1.84%) and Reliance Industries(up 1.7%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, NTPC(down 0.68%), HDFC(down 0.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.6%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.49%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.27%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.23%) and Grasim Industries(down 0.01%) were trading in the red.
