Meta India’s profit after tax (PAT) in FY22 grew by 132 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 297 crore, as per Registrar of Companies (RoC) data. The company’s gross advertising revenues were Rs 16,189 crore, during the financial year.
In FY21-22, Meta India reported its PAT grew to Rs 297 crore while its profit before tax in FY22 was Rs 440 crore, growing 116 per cent YoY.
Meanwhile, the company’s gross advertising revenues were Rs 16,189 crore or around $2 billion for FY22, a jump of 74 per cent year-on-year (YoY). In FY20-21, it had registered gross advertising revenues of Rs 9,326 crore, a jump of 41 per cent YoY. Ad revenues are the main source of revenue for Meta in India.
Meta’s platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are hugely popular in the country. IT Ministry data from 2021 indicates that WhatsApp had 530 million users in the country, while Facebook and Instagram had 410 million and 210 million users respectively.
