Lucknow: Woman ‘buyer’ steals jewels worth Rs 1.5 lakh

LUCKNOW: A woman posing as a prospective buyer stole jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh from a shop in Para locality on Saturday. The act was recorded in the CCTV camera of the shop.
The complainant, Vikas Sharma, informed the police that a woman reached his jewellery shop on the pretext of purchasing ornaments. He showed her some earrings and a nose ring but she kept on asking for more designs.
“After 15 minutes, she said that she did not like any of the designs and left the shop. We started packing the jewellery and when we weighed them, there was a difference of 32 grams. We checked the CCTV footage and found that she had kept a few ornaments in her bag,” Sharma said.
Assistant commissioner of police, Kakori, Anindya Vikram Singh said that an FIR had been lodged.
