BAGAHA: A week after 'man-eater' tiger was killed by the government, another one killed four goats on the fringes of same Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district on Friday evening.
Locals said the tiger came out from Manguraha forest range of the VTR. The incident occurred adjacent to Parsauni village when villagers were returning home with their goats. The tiger killed three goats on the spot and dragged away the fourth one to a sugarcane field.
Sunil Kumar Pathak, the forest range officer at Munguraha, said a team of tiger trackers was sent to the spot and carcasses of the three goats were recovered. Compensation will be provided to the goat owners as per norms.
Forester at Munguraha range, Avinash Kumar, said the tiger was hiding in the sugarcane field. "The trackers team is keeping a watch on the straying tiger," he said.
On October 8, T-104, a three-year-old male tiger which had killed 10 persons in the past seven months, was shot dead at Balua.
