Sabita wins silver at Asian Youth Athletics C’ship
Bhubaneswar: 17-year-old Sabita Toppo won the silver in the 100m hurdles at the Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Kuwait on Friday. Sabita, who hails from Sundergarh and is the youngest of six siblings, crossed the finish line in 14.17 seconds.
She joined the Odisha Reliance foundation HPC in 2019 and that has had a transformational impact on her life with an improvement in her timing by more than two seconds in the years since. Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Sabita on her performance.

James Hillier, athletics director of the Reliance Foundation Athletics Programme, said, Sabita has been a very inspirational story.
In the boy’s javelin, Arjun won silver with a throw of 70.98m while Himanshu Mishra took bronze with 67.67m.
