Mysuru: A day after a mother lodged a complaint against Chitradurga-based Murugha mutt seer Shivamurthy Sharanaru alleging sexual assault on her two daughters, Mysuru-based Odanadi Seva Samsthe, the NGO that is providing shelter and protection to the mother and her daughters, has urged the Chitradurga police to complete investigation soon. Odanadi co-founder KV Stanly urged police to investigate another incident of a four-year-old child staying in the Chitradurga mutt.
It can be recalled that on Friday the Nazarabad police, in the city, registered an FIR against the seer and his six associates under various provisions of the Pocso Act. It has been alleged that the seer sexually assaulted four children.
The case has been transferred to Chitradurga. Stanly said the local police must start the investigation at the earliest to ensure justice for the survivors. They are spending time in fear, he told reporters. We have written to the police in this regard, he stated, adding we are yet to receive any information from Chitradurga police about the investigation. tnn
