
Close on the heels of SCO RATS (counter-terror) meet here, India will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) national coordinators' meeting on October 17-18 in Delhi to give a boost to its Eurasian agenda of inclusive connectivity, trade and effective counter-terror measures.
This will be the first such national coordinator meet under the Indian SCO presidency. The national coordinators or Sherpas of SCO will shape the agenda of the SCO Summit that India will host in 2023 amid tumultuous geopolitics, ET has learnt.
SCO, which came into being in 2001, has nine countries as its members - Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iran - and the four central Asian countries of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan. Iran became the latest member of the grouping this year and will attend the summit as a full-fledged member next year at the India SCO summit.
