Poet Suryakant Tripathi Nirala remembered on his death anniv
Prayagraj: On the death anniversary of the great poet Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, litterateurs, teachers and researchers laid wreaths and flowers on the statue of Nirala located in the Allahabad University campus on Saturday.
Remembering the poet, senior poet-critic Rajendra Ku2mar said that Nirala is an ideal for us even today. Referring to the poem written on Nirala in his youth, he said that Nirala can be read in both scarcity and perfection. He also discussed the relationship of Nehru and Lohia with him and also shared the lecture series for Nirala and the plan of a biography to be written on him in future in collaboration with Raza Foundation. Critic Kumar Virendra said that Nirala has been a poet who has a balance in poetry and behavior. He said that the last days and behavior of Nirala spent in Allahabad could be felt through his letters, dialogues, goddess story etc. Referring to Nirala’s behaviour, he said that the great poet was sympathetic towards the neglected section of the society, till his last days.On this occasion, librarian of the University’s central library, BK Singh was also present. Along with him the head of Hindi Department of Rajju Bhaiyya University Ashutosh Singh, Anil Yadav, Dinanath Maurya, Laxman Prasad Gupta, Dhirendra Pratap Singh, research students including Avneesh Yadav, Saurabh Kumar, Pushkar Shukla, Parmeshwar Raj, Chandrashekhar Kushwaha, Shivendra Singh, Anupam Shukla, Ashutosh Tripathi etc were also present.
