Auto driver held for sex assault on girl

THANE: The police arrested a 36-year-old auto driver from Digha in Navi Mumbai for molesting a college girl who was dragged by him after making lewd gestures in the market area.
The accused has been identified as Katikadala alias Raju Abathi Virangnelu , a resident of Ganesh Chawl in Digha.
The police said three police teams checked the CCTV footage and worked on intelligence inputs to zero in on the accused.
A police officer said they had sketchy details as the auto number was not visible in the CCTV footage.
The police found a rear-guard was fitted to the auto which are mostly installed in the Navi Mumbai area.
The girl had given the description that the accused was bulky and had long hair.
