HYDERABAD: A day after the double murder at Uppal, Rachakonda police have claimed they suspect that hired assassins could be involved in the killing. However, despite it being more than 36 hours, police failed to get any breakthrough.
Rachakonda police sources said Narasimha Murthy,78, and his son Srinivas, 35 had disputes with the former’s siblings over two ancestral properties located in Uppal and surrounding areas.
“Though the victims’ family raised suspicion over Narasimha’s sister and brother’s role in the double murder, the suspects’ direct involvement has not been found. However, the suspects are being probed for being conspirators, where they might have engaged any hired killers. Investigation is being done from all angles to ascertain if the victims have enmity with anyone else,” the sources said.
“The dispute between the victims and the suspects, civil in nature, are pending in different courts. We have no clarity about these cases, since it is a title dispute where there are cases and counter cases. It was also found that in one issue, the property was already sold,” an officer, who was involved in the probe, told TOI.
When Narasimha was sitting beneath the portico at his house, two persons entered his house by covering their faces and hacked him to death. On hearing the commotion, his son Srinivas rushed to his rescue, but he too was attacked and killed.
