Prayagraj: In view of the large number of aspirants, travelling to different cities to appear in the preliminary eligibility test (PET), special trains are being operated by North Central Railway (NCR) for the convenience of the candidates.
In this sequence Prayagraj – Agra Cantt Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) examination special train (12 coach) was operated on Saturday with stoppages at Fatehpur, Kanpur Central, Panki Dham, Phaphund, Etawah, Firozabad, Tundla. The train left Prayagraj at 2:45 pm from platform number 1 with around 250 passengers on board from the originating station. After the completion of the second shift examination from Kanpur, this train was used by a large number of candidates for onward journeys.
Apart from this, Kanpur Central –
Agra Cantt MEMU was also operated with stoppages at Panki Dham, Phaphund, Etawah, Firozabad, Tundla. The train departed from platform number 3 of Kanpur Central at 3:50 pm with around 215 candidates.
In this sequence, the third MEMU special is also being operated from Kanpur Central to Mirzapur which left Kanpur at 6.30 pm.
The senior public relation officer NCR, Amit Malviya informed that these trains are also being provided stoppages at other stations as per the demand. Their operating time is being adjusted according to the number of passengers so that smooth traffic can be provided to the maximum number of students through them.
In the return direction from Agra Cantt in the down direction, the first special train will run for Prayagraj at around 10:00 pm on Saturday night.
In the same sequence, on October 16, special MEMU trains will be operated from Prayagraj to Agra at 3:45 pm, Kanpur to Agra at 3:50 pm and from Kanpur to Mirzapur at 6:30 pm.
Apart from this, additional ticket distribution and checking staff, Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force personnel, along with additional staff were deployed to maintain a smooth catering system at all major stations for the cooperation, guidance and security of passengers. Additional ticket counters have also been opened at all stations to ensure smooth ticket availability to the passengers.
