Standing committee to take up 31 proposals
Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), which is in a hurry to clear contracts before the model code of conduct for the state assembly polls is implemented, will hold a standing committee meeting on Monday. The last meeting of the committee was held on Friday.
The meeting will take up 31 proposals on its agenda, most of them regarding annual rate contracts for regular civil works done by various departments. Contracts for civil works amounting to Rs 31crore will also be taken up.
The works include carpeting and resurfacing of some roads that are in a bad shape. Works on storm water drains, a health facility and others are also included.
The proposal to clear the allocation of shops at the Ajwa Road Ratri Bazaar will also be taken up.
The committee usually holds its meetings on Thursday or Friday, but it has been scheduled on Monday.
