DAV group hosts cluster-level sports competitions

Ranchi: The DAV group of schools have organised cluster-level Jharkhand Zone National sports 2022 for various sports events across the state for students of Class VI to Class XII. In Ranchi, two DAV schools have hosted sports events. Of the two schools, DAV Public School Bariatu hosted a three-day cluster-level cricket and kho kho competitions from Thursday to Saturday. The other school, SR DAV Public School, Pundag, organised cluster-level martial arts events on Friday.
Four clusters of DAV schools in Jharkhand including from Dhanbad, Jamtara, Rajrappa, Bariatu, Gumla, Sariya and Dhori, have hosted the sports events that will conclude on Saturday. The gold and silver medallists of individual events will advance to the zonal level. After qualifying at the zonal level, they will play at the national level.
On the occasion, Vinay Kumar Pandey, head of Cluster III zone and principal of DAV Bariatu said, “Sports is one component of the comprehensive education policy. The significance of this competition is indicated by its affiliation with the Sports Authority of India.”
