
Delhi News Today Live Updates, October 15: BJP national president JP Nadda while addressing the Panch Parmeshwar Sammelan on Sunday said that the saffron party won’t allow AAP’s corrupt government to stay and would defeat them in the upcoming MCD elections. More than one lakh BJP workers are scheduled to attend the Panch Parmeshwar Sammelan. Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta said that five booth workers each from over 13,000 booths in Delhi will be present on the occasion. The councillors and mandal presidents were asked to select those who would be attending the rally.
Meanwhile, after holding meetings of Chhath Puja Samitis at his residence on Saturday, Bharatiya Janat Party (BJP) MP from Northeast Delhi Manoj Tiwari sought that the “festival be allowed on the river banks”. Tiwari said the festival is about river bank cleaning and nothing harmful is immersed in the water. “What we pour in the river is milk, cow milk or Gangajal. If cow milk is put in water, it decreases the percentage of impurities in it,” said Tiwari. The Chhath festival, which is popular in Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, will be celebrated on October 30 and 31 this year.
In other news, a fire was reported at an auto parts manufacturing company in Bilaspur industrial area in Gurgaon Saturday morning. No casualties were reported in the incident which is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.”A call was received at 4.57 am regarding a fire at a factory in Binola industrial area near the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway. At least 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” Fire safety officer Narender Yadav said.
"Ye ibadat nhi, jihaad hai (This is not namaaz, this is a show of strength)," Surendra Jain, Joint General Secretary, VHP, said Sunday at VHP's 'Trishul Disha' programme in Manesar.
Jain was referring to an incident in Bhora Kalan village in Gurgaon where a mob had allegedly barged into a mosque.

At 'Trishul Disha' programme in Manesar organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Manesar district on Sunday, Surendra Jain, Joint General Secretary, VHP, said, 'Hindus have been facing several challenges...but I want to make it clear...Ye Hindu rashtra thaa, Hindu rashtra hai aur Hindu rashtra rahega... there is no need to declare it.'
Referring to an incident in Bhora Kalan village in Gurgaon, where a mob had allegedly barged into a mosque, Jain, said '12-13 years ago, three Muslim families had arrived in the village and had requested for a place to pray at a land meant for grazing animals. But slowly, people from outside areas (and Mewat) started coming to pray...apne saath eetein (bricks) laane lage. If someone comes into your house and builds a mosque, will you allow this? Namaz ka matlab ye nhi ki ghar ke andar masjid bana len...Today they are coming to Bhora Kalan, tomorrow it will be Gurgaon, then Haryana...this is a conspiracy.'
Devender Singh, zila mantri, VHP Manesar, said, 'A pledge was taken to protect Bharat Mata and the country...We will not use weapons in an individual or personal capacity, but if the need arises under circumstances to protect our nation and motherland and for our religion (dharm raksha) or for honour of our mothers and sisters, then we can use weapons.' JP Nadda while addressing the BJP workers said that today there is no principals in 745 schools. "There is no science and commerce in seventy percent schools. Kejriwalji you are only busy lying , giving false figures," Nadda added.
He also said that the division of MCD was done in 2012 which created crisis in the MCD but we have United it.

Minutes after CBI summoned Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that this is the second fight for freedom, while comparing Sisodia and Satyendar Jain to today's Bhagat Singh.
Replying to the tweet, posted by Sisodia, he said, "Jail bars and hanging noose could not deter Bhagat Singh's lofty intentions. This is the second fight for freedom. Manish and Satyendra are today's Bhagat Singh.
"After 75 years, the country got an education minister who gave good education to the poor and gave hope for a bright future. Prayers of crores of poor are with you," he added.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Sunday, while addressing the party workers at the Panch Parmeshwar Sammelan, said that last time when the programme was held BJP won two out of three polls which were MCD and Lok Sabha. "This time we will win all three polls," he added.
He also said that last year from the same stage Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave us a mantra and with the power of karyakartas we went on to win more than 180 seats in MCD. (ENS)
South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday while addressing the party workers said, 'It is the karyakartas (BJP workers) that have kept the BJP alive. Journalists asked me is the corporation election bugle been blown. I want to tell that our karyakartas are twenty four seven ready for polls.'

Delhiites woke up to clear skies on Sunday with the minimum temperature settling at 19.1 degrees Celsius, the weather office said. The relative humidity recorded at 8:30 am was 91 per cent, they said. According to the MeT department, the maximum temperature will hover around 32 degrees Celsius.
The Central Pollution Control Board's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) data showed that at 8.05 am, Delhi's air quality was in the poor category at 218. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
On Saturday, the minimum temperature in the national capital settled at 18.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average while the maximum settled at 31.6, a notch below the season's average. (PTI)
In a meeting with residents in Greater Noida West Techzone-4 as part of the ‘Safaigiri Abhiyan’ cleanliness programme, Greater Noida Authority chief executive officer (CEO) Ritu Maheshwari highlighted several upcoming improvements to connectivity in the region.
She said the approval of the Metro from Noida’s Sector 52 to Greater Noida West’s Knowledge Park 5 was in the final stages with the groundwork to start soon. The CEO also said the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) would try to finalise the tender for 25 feeder buses running between Noida and Greater Noida by the end of the year, with these beginning service in about eight to nine months. Candidates have a final opportunity Sunday to reorder or add college-course combinations to their preference lists for Delhi University admissions.
The preferences last saved by candidates as of 4:59 pm Sunday evening will get automatically locked and these will form the basis for determining the allocation of seats, which will be declared on October 18.
On Friday, the DU released a list of ‘simulated ranks’ with each candidate to enable them to assess the probability of allocations in a particular programme and college. After this, candidates have been given two days to change, add or delete their preferences if they wish to. (Read more)

Before All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), it was Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital that would cater to VIPs – from Harivansh Rai Bachhan to Lala Amarnath – seeking treatment.
Established as a 54-bedded hospital in 1932, RML was developed by the British Government and was formerly known as Willingdon Hospital, named after Lord Willingdon, who served as the 22nd Viceroy and Governor General of India from April 18, 1931 to April 18, 1936.
According to Madan Thapliyal, writer and former director of public relations at New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the hospital was a small clinic before it was rechristened Willingdon Hospital in 1932. (Read more)
A 21-year-old second-year student of Galgotias University in Greater Noida, who went missing three days ago, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a drain about 750 metres from the campus on Saturday. Police said they have initiated inquest proceedings, adding that they were questioning three friends of the student, who had accompanied him on the evening he went missing.
Police identified the student as Yashaswi Raj from Bihar, who was pursuing BSc Agriculture.
A police officer said, “Preliminary probe has found that the victim along with a friend from the university had gone to a tavern in Dankaur kasba… around 5 pm on October 12. At the tavern, two more friends who study in the same university had joined them. Around 7.30 pm, the victim had spoken to his mother over the phone over a video call. A few minutes later around 8 pm, his phone went off.” Read more.
With clear skies during the day, the maximum temperature in the national capital on Saturday settled at 31.6 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average.
At 18.8 degrees Celsius, the city's minimum temperature was also recorded one notch below the normal, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin said.
According to the IMD, mainly clear skies is expected in Delhi in the next five days.
