38 teachers get tips on activity-based chemistry teaching
Ludhiana: A three-day capacity building workshop on ‘Activity-based chemistry teaching using low-cost teaching aids’ concluded at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The workshop was jointly organized by the department of chemistry, PAU, and the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) under the aegis of Vigyan Prasar, department of science and technology (DST), Government of India. As many as 38 science teachers from government schools of various districts of Punjab participated in the workshop and found it very informative, interactive and useful.
Dr B K Tyagi, senior scientist, Vigyan Prasar, DST, Government of India, motivated the participants to be a knowledge-creator in addition to being a learner. He asked them to give space to their students to explore and innovate in science.
Later, Dr BK Tyagi; Dr Shammi Kapoor; Dr KS Bath, Joint Director, PSCST and Dr MK Sangha, Head, department of chemistry, awarded certificates to the resource persons, participants and the organizers.
Dr Kapoor and Dr Sangha presented a set of PAU publications to Dr Tyagi, Dr Bath, Dr Aashaq Hussain, master resource person and Dr Madhu Sharma, a resource person. tnn
