Gujarat: Four cops among eight caught at Sabarmati gambling den

AHMEDABAD: Officers of the state monitoring cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police raided a gambling den in the D Cabin area of Sabarmati on Friday and nabbed eight men, including four policemen.
The cops caught were identified as sub-inspector Dharmendrasinh Parmar from the Kheda police headquarters, assistant sub-inspector Hitendrasinh Champawat of city crime branch, head constable Hitendrasinh Takhatsinh of Naroda police and head constable Kishorsinh Anupsinh of Ahmedabad city police control room.
"The city crime branch ASI had gone there to collect money in exchange for letting the gambling den operate," said an SMC officer.
SMC officers said one Lakshman Rawat alias Babu Dadhi was running the gambling den at a house in New Railway Colony near Rabarivaas in Sabarmati. A railway employee is also under the scanner.
