Kota: A 38-year-old farmer allegedly died of cardiac arrest after seeing his soya bean crop completely damaged by recent rain in Latura village under Bapawar police station in Sangod subdivision in Kota district on Wednesday night.
Police handed over the body to family members after post-mortem. His cremation took place in the village on Thursday morning.
It was the second death of a farmer due to damage of crops by recent rain in Kota division. Radhyashyam Gurjar (50) had hanged himself over damaged crop in Sunel town of Jhalawar district three days ago.
According to family members, Mahendra Nagar, son of Chataurbhuj, a resident of Latura village under Bapawar police station, had gone to his agriculture field on Wednesday evening to take stock of soya bean crop after the rain, ASI at Bapawar police station Purushottam said. When he did not return from the field, his family reached the field and found Mahendra dead. tnn
