MANGALURU: The JMFC, Udupi, sentenced five youths to one-month imprisonment, on the charges of travelling without a ticket, and creating a nuisance on a train.
Sources said that the passengers hailing from
Kerala, were travelling in train No.12620 Matsyagandha Express from Mangaluru to Madgoan, without a ticket, in the general compartment. The department received a message from the TTE on duty at 2.15 pm on Wednesday, that five persons were not only travelling without tickets, but were also creating a nuisance on the train.
The RPF staff on duty detained the five persons without tickets, who were taken to the RPF office, Udupi. At the RPF office, they allegedly created a nuisance, and used foul language against the personnel on duty. A case was registered, and all the five accused were produced before the JMFC, Udupi.
The court sentenced the accused to one month of simple imprisonment, and a fine of Rs 1,000 each, for travelling without a ticket, and Rs 100 each, for creating a nuisance.
