AGRA: Following orders of the court of chief judicial magistrate in Etah district, an FIR has been registered against police inspector Satish Kumar Yadav for registering five fake cases against a local businessman in 2016.
Yadav, 48, who was the then SHO of Aliganj police station, had allegedly registered FIRs against Awdhesh Kumar (39) on the basis of false evidence created in connivance with local politicians.
The inspector was found guilty following a probe ordered by the office of director general of police (DGP) but no action was taken against him. Kumar then filed a plea in Allahabad high court, which referred the matter to Etah district court. The accused cop is currently posted in Mainpuri. On Thursday, ASP Dhananjay Kushwaha said, "Following the court orders, an FIR has been registered against inspector Satish Kumar Yadav at Aliganj police station."
The probe, conducted by DSP Ram Niwas Singh in June, 2019, revealed that five fake cases were registered by inspector against Awdhesh Kumar under various sections of IPC, including 307 (attempt to murder) and 354 (assault to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and sections of the arms and excise acts.
According to the victim's complaint, the accused cop arbitrarily registered FIRs as part of a criminal conspiracy involving local politicians. Following a flawed investigation done on the basis of fake evidence, senior police officials and the court were misled, the victim claimed.
Now, an FIR was finally registered against the inspector and an unknown person under IPC sections 418 (cheating with knowledge of wrongful loss), 166 (public servant disobeying law), 167 (framing an incorrect document), 193 (false evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
