NOIDA: The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Gautam Buddh Nagar has issued orders to register a case against seven policemen, including the station house officer of Sector 113 police station, for allegedly implicating a youth in a fake robbery case and sending him to jail.
The court's order is based on an application filed by a woman from Sorkha village in Noida, who has accused that policemen had kept her son in illegal custody and sent him to jail in a fraudulent robbery case. The woman appealed in the court to register a case and order appropriate actions against the policemen.
"On August 10 night, my youngest son Jagdish had an altercation with his elder brother and called up the police control room so that the matter did not escalate. A PCR van came and cops settled the matter. After the policemen went, I slept inside the house while Jagesh slept outside in a cot. In morning around 5 am, I found him missing from home and later was informed that he was arrested and taken to Sector 113 police station. Upon asking, the police told us that he has been arrested in a case of robbery. However, on the basis of CCTV footage it was seen that the policemen forcefully took Jagdish from outside our house" Veervati said in her application
According to reports, the police had arrested three men - Jagdish Yadav alias Jaggi, Kalu and Sagar Valmiki, all residents of Sorkha village- and sent them to jail in a chain robbery case committed in August. In this case, a petition was filed in the CJM court by Veervati alleging that her son was illegally detained by the police.
The court ordered to register a case against Sector 113 police station in-charge Sharadkant, sub-inspectors Sunil Kumar, Arun Kumar Verma, Avesh Malik, and Chandrashekhar Balyan, constables Rohit Sharma and Rohit Kumar.
Meanwhile, the Gautam Budh Nagar police have claimed that they have arrested the accused with proper evidence against him. " We will move our application in court to reconsider the facts and evidence we have against him," said Ashutosh Dwivedi, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida.
