AHMEDABAD: To fill the vacant engineering degree seats in government and grant-in-aid colleges, the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has announced that students who have not cleared common entrance tests such as GujCET or JEE will also be admitted.
The admission committee said there are 5,116 seats vacant at such institutes in the state. Earlier, the admission committee allowed self-financed engineering colleges to admit students on their own to fill vacant seats.
There are 53,438 engineering degree seats at 130 government, grant-in-aid and private colleges in the state.
According to the admission committee statement, those who want to apply to government colleges can do so from October 13 to 16 and the committee will announce the merit list on October 17. Those on the list will be called in person on October 19 to submit documents.
