Mysuru: The body of a three-month pregnant woman who drowned late in the night at a village pond in Nanjangud was pulled out on Thursday. Yamuna, 23, was riding pillion on a bike with her husband Dakshinamurthy on Wednesday night. Police said he had placed a rice bag on the fuel tank of the bike. They were travelling to Siddaiahanhundi from Devanuru. Dakshinamurthy lost balance and drove the bike in to the pond.
Villagers who were passing nearby rescue him, but they could not save Yamina. Dakshinamurthy has been hospitalised and Nanjangud traffic police have taken up a case.
