NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Friday's session.

Bannari Amman Sugars(up 1.37%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.63%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.43%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.25%), Sakthi Sugars(up 0.23%) and K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.19%) stood among the top gainers.

& Chemicals(down 4.09%), & Industries(down 3.68%), & Chemicals(down 3.53%), Mawana Sugars(down 2.87%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 2.68%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.64%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 1.45%), & Chemicals(down 1.32%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.24%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.14%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 171.35 points up at 17185.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 684.64 points at 57919.97.

Infosys(up 3.83%), HDFC Bank(up 3.26%), HDFC(up 2.64%), UPL Ltd(up 2.17%), HCL Technologies(up 2.08%), ICICI Bank(up 1.95%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.89%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.8%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.69%) and Divis Laboratories(up 1.39%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.73%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.43%), JSW Steel(down 1.25%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.1%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.95%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.82%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.75%), Asian Paints(down 0.73%), Tata Motors(down 0.69%) and SBI Life(down 0.68%) closed in the red.
