Minor gangrape survivor tries to end life, 4 held

Jaipur: A class-10 girl tried to end her life by consuming a poisonous substance after she was allegedly gang-raped and blackmailed.
DCP East Rajeev Pachar said that police have filed a case of alleged gang rape and blackmail. “We have already detained four accused named in the FIR,” he said.
Police said that the 14-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital about three days ago and she has been discharged after treatment.
As per the police, the girl alleged that one of her classmates first raped her about two months ago. The accused also allegedly shot videos and photos of the act. Police said that the friends of the main accused also began blackmailing her for money. “The girl’s condition is out of danger. We have recorded her statements in the case. She got scared after the ordeal and tried to end her life,” said an official.
The Jaipur police said that a total of five accused were named in the case, of which four are already detained. TNN
